Record-Breaking Season
The Winter 2026 championship series delivered one of the most competitive seasons in ABKC history, with over 2,000 dogs competing across Standard, Classic, Pocket, and XL divisions. From coast to coast, exhibitors brought their best, and the results speak to the incredible growth and quality of the American Bully breed.
This season saw a 23% increase in entries compared to Winter 2025, with particularly strong growth in the Classic and Pocket divisions. The quality of dogs presented was exceptional, with judges consistently noting the improvement in overall breed type and structure across all four varieties.
Division Highlights
Standard Division
The Standard division continues to be the most competitive category, with 487 entries across all Winter 2026 shows. GR CH Ironside's Blueprint dominated the circuit, taking Best of Breed at three consecutive shows and finishing the season as the top-ranked Standard male. His combination of substance, structure, and movement set a new benchmark for the variety.
In the female classes, CH Dynasty's Diamond Edge emerged as a standout, earning multiple Best Opposite Sex awards and finishing with the highest point total among Standard females.
Classic Division
The Classic division showed remarkable depth this season, with new kennels bringing fresh bloodlines to the ring. The emphasis on athleticism and breed type that defines the Classic variety was on full display, with judges rewarding dogs that embodied the lighter, more athletic build that distinguishes Classic from Standard.
Pocket Division
Pocket entries surged by 31% this season, reflecting the variety's growing popularity. The compact powerhouses in this division consistently drew the largest ringside crowds, with spectators appreciating the combination of smaller stature and muscular build that defines the Pocket Bully.
XL Division
The XL division brought its signature presence to every show, with entries averaging over 21 inches at the withers. The emphasis this season was on sound movement and proper structure, with judges specifically rewarding XL dogs that moved effortlessly despite their impressive size.

- Ice Breaker Invitational (February 8-9, Atlanta, GA) — 298 entries, Best in Show: CH Legacy's First Edition (Classic Male)
Looking Ahead to Spring
With the Winter 2026 season now in the books, attention turns to the Spring show calendar. Early registration numbers suggest another record-breaking season, with several new ABKC-sanctioned shows being added to the schedule. Exhibitors are encouraged to register early to secure their spots, as several venues have already reached capacity for their Spring dates.
